Born in Japan and raised on rhythm, Junichi Arima’s love of the Bass has taken him all over the world in all sorts of company. At an early age, he set out to master his instrument learning his way through the classics of Funk, R & B, and Soul introduced to him by his instructor. From here, he would go on to study Bass at Berklee College of Music in Boston on a performance scholarship, and to forge a career as a touring and recording artist based in New York City. Throughout his tenure there, he has followed his art to build creative relationships with some of the premiere performers of the R & B, Hip Hop, and West African music scenes, opened for world renowned musicians such as King Sunny Ade, and played alongside many other current top artists; all this while working as a bass instructor, serving as a resident bassist in multiple church communities, and experimenting with songwriting ventures of his own.
